Our Philosophy
Everyday across South Carolina, adults choose where they live, who they live with, and the types of housing they live in. But for adults with autism and intellectual disabilities, housing choice is limited.
Many barriers exist – lack of employment opportunities, lack of income or funding, lack of affordable housing, lack of accessible transportation, and lack of services. Attitudes about people with disabilities can also limit housing choices. Unfortunately, some in our communities still believe adults with disabilities cannot, or should not, make their own life decisions or live as independently as they can. We know they can, they do, and they will.
Independence starts here. SOS Care is leading change, so that each adult with autism and intellectual disabilities across South Carolina has choices.
